How cold is too cold for a brug?

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

I heard it may get into the forties tonight. Should I protect my brugs with some plastic? I didn't know at what temperature they would not fair too well.

Does anyone have good experience with when you should protect or bring your brugs inside?

Thanks ☺

Here's another thread on the same subject http://davesgarden.com/t/398437/

I let mine stay out as long as possible and lug them in when frost is going to hit.

I have some in pots, some planted in the ground, do not worry at all unless it is going to be 32 degrees.

Thanks, Poppysue & Hibiscus :)

I looked for a similar thread but apparently not far enough! Appreciate the link & the temperature information. Especially, Hibiscus, since you're so near me!

Thank you both.

You're welcome. Let's hope we have a few more weeks of nice weather! I have lot of buds on lots of brugs.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Me, too!!! Funny thing is that the buds almost seem empty.

Is it possible that brugs can form an empty bud and if so, what happens???

Burlington, ON(Zone 6a)

The bud will fill the pod out as it grows Morph, that is just the way they do it... casing grows faster than the bud inside it sometimes.

Thanks, RA :) Glad to know that! I thought maybe I'd done something wrong in my extra fertilizing and created a monster brug ~ lol.

So, you're sticking around for another year, yes? If so, I am SOOOOO glad!!!!

Independence, MO(Zone 5a)

I thought i had empty bids too. I am gladd i read back some threads...My question has been answered :)

thanks
Mercy
