Born on Labor Day, this is my daughter, Autumn.
My baby .. I waited a good 5 years to have.
She was 14 last week.
This little gal has helped me more than anyone.
She is out helping all the time ..
Knows how to build the soil. Knows how to plant.
Helps with the cannas, picks the veggies, collects the eggs, and helps with hay.
Knows how to hybridize, propagate. Collects just about all our seeds. And knows how to grow them.
Know all the brugs by name. And most of the cannas . lol
I have taken her out with me since a baby, and has grown with her.
A really good singer, artist, and designer ..(for all her 14 years!). Soccer and volleyball, too.
Weekends (the last 4 years) she works the Renaissance Festival the 6 weeks here in fall.
This is last weekend when she got to sub as Queen Fairy when that actress took sick.
Already knew that part from all her time there. lol
Her usual part is she is the Dragon wings in that act ..and wears the Dragon's wings
Thought I would show my 'best help'.
Do not know what I would do without this precious young lady.
I am honoured to be her mother.
Always so glad she came (o:
'Autumn' in Autumn ..My Best Help!
What a doll! You are so lucky to have such talented daughters! They obviously take after you. I wouldn't mind a pair of those fairy wings myself! LOL
She is growing up to be smart, and a beauty also. Keep her around for awhile.
How blessed you both are to have each other.
You have a very lovely daughter! And what a great help. I'll be happy to see mine grow into such wonderful beings, but also sad to see them 'grow up'.
Beautiful young lady and I know you're proud as can be of her.
So nice to hear that..seems now days you don't hear it or maybe it's because it isn't said...I have two wonderful children too..both grown now, but they are my joy...So glad to hear about another Mother being so blessed.... :o)
Aren't daughters the most precious gift God gave to mothers? Well, my daughters are. I had three and now my baby is 32. We talk at least every other day. I miss their company so much. They are scattered all over the place. One in Texas, one in Colorado, and one in Nice,France. Now I have thirteen grandchildren and 7 of those are girls. I hope that my daughters appreciate their daughters as much as I appreciated them. Make since to you?
God bless daughters!
You are a lucky lady, Alice.
Your daughter is a beautiful girl, and must be just as sweet as she is beautiful to help you like that.
We're so blessed also. We have 4 beautiful, talented, smart daughters. I'm not prejudiced at all. LOL The oldest daughter has 3 girls and works as an architectural designer. The second oldest daughter is a microbiologist and as 1 son. The third daughter runs her husband's DJ business and has 2 daughters. The oldest who is 9, has Cystic Fibrosis and takes a lot of care. Luckily, when our daughter worked she was a chiropractic assistant and x-ray technician, so she has made a good nurse for her daughter. The fourth daughter is a stay at home mom with 1 son and 3 daughters. As you can see, girls run in our family. We are so lucky, because all 4 of them live within 20 miles of us. Our one and only son lives out in LA. He is the spoiled baby of the family and still playing the field. he he
You must be so proud. You have an exceptional child. You are truly blessed.
You have a beautiful, talented daughter. I bet you are very proud of her.
I can just see your smile and sparkling eyes as you talk about Autumn in your post. She is a great looking girl and you should be very proud of her. I'll bet she thinks a lot of her mother too.
Gee Alice, you got me teary eyed with that beautiful post.
May God bless you both!
What a sweet tribute and great picture. What a blessing you have in her -- and certainly she has a blessing in you!
Abutilon, I agree with all the above messages and couldn't think of anything better to write. Lovely photo and lovely daughter and Mother. Donna
Alice, you sound like a very proud and grateful Mom.
I'm sure Autumn knows how much you love her ~ and loves you in return.
You're both blessed to have each other.
Alice, it sounds like the both of you have a very special bond. Isn't it wonderful that she shares the love of many things that you do.
Your are a very lucky women to have such a lovely
daughter. Especially one that shares your love for your plants.
Thanks, everyone (o:
I love my girls dearly. But also a very special relationship with my son/their brother, Kevin ..agewise inbetween
the two girls. He is probably like me most in temperament and personality. lol
Shown wearing the cowboy hat from the southwest he wanted so much. My best friend helped me get for him for his 21st birthday this year. He works a 40+ hour week and college in an intense police training program he will graduate May 2004.
Though he lives with us, we don't get to see him much right now.
But Sunday he is off and spends the day with me (o: I am teaching him to be a farmer ;-) ha
I have been very fortunate in my children, and know it.
Wanted by me even before married, each came into my life a true joy.
Maybe that makes a difference to how they grow up. Or I just got lucky (o:
This has turned out a great thread sharing about our children. And the love and pride we all share for them.
All threads should be this good (o:
You have a very handsome son Alice and should be quite proud of his accomplishments too. It sounds like he has goals in his life. So many kids don't these days.
Very touching!
