Storm check in.... How is everyone?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Good here in New Jersey! A HUGE MESS but safe and sound. Major damage to all the potted plants/brugs. A couple trees down lots of branches and a zillion leaves in my pool! We had gusts up to 50 mph and no power from about 7 p.m. till? I'm a little sad that this ended my brug season but I'm very thankful this was the only damage we had.

How is everyone else? Do check in....

We are not even close to it's path, but are to have rain from it today.

Glad you are safe, Kristi. Plants will grow again, I hope!

Kristi:

I'm glad you and your family are safe. Don't despair, the plants are resilient and they will grow again.

May the peace of the Lord be with you and your family, everyone affected by Isabel, and everyone who reads this post.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh Kristi, I'm so sorry to hear the storm did so much damage to your flowers, etc. I am glad you are safe and hope that everyone will be safe with at least, no more than minor damage or NONE.

Glad you survived the storm with not too much damage. It is sad to see so much hard work in tatters all over the garden though.

Hampstead, NC(Zone 8a)

I had just moved my Brugs down to the Wilmington area, and had them sheltered. Here in Efland the willow tree danced all day, and a few limbs and lots of leaves down, but very fortunate to have missed the brunt of the storm.

A few trees down on my road they removed this morning.
Lots of wind and rain.
Raining still.
But all is fine here (o:

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

We didn't get a thing here. The radar looked a bit scary down the center of Ohio last night but fizzled out I suppose. Today it is cool and pleasant. I'm sorry for those of you that got that winds and rains.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Glad everyone made it through safely.

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

Great here. A very brief light shower and winds around 20 mph . We lucked out on this one but who knows about the next one? The season's not over until the end of October.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

We were on the east side of the path so we got mostly wind, not sure how strong the gusts were, they said to expect up to 60 mph,It didn't rain till late this afternoon.

Our power went out early yesterday morning and didn't come back on till late tonite. The power lines on my road got knocked down by falling trees, the lines ended up in the swamp, and they were in there fizzling and smoking for hours......

When they land in water like that ,does it electrocute the frogs and ducks and stuff?

anyhow,I had a few casualties,My white hybrid that I really like got totally uprooted, gunna pot it up tomorrow.Maya was crushed by our freestanding swing, figures there were buds on it.My 15 foot banana, that I hoped would bloom has no leaves anymore, all my dahlias are laying on their sides, even though they were in tomato cages....not hurricane proof......

The good news is that Chuck is doing much better , he's up and walking, doing excersizes ,and he grabbed all my really tall potted brugs and moved them in the GH for me,I am back to working 60 hours a week so I wasn't home to do any of it.....
