I woke up at 4 a.m. and was unable to go back to sleep. It's 7:30 now and I have to go to town and run some errands and present a slide show at the college for newcomers to our area. It's a show on historic structures. I am becoming known as "Ms. History" in this county. Then I have to go to work.
Well, at least I am getting good readings off my lipostix. For lunch, I'll eat some down-east bbq and a salad. Down East is a vinegar and pepper concoction for those of you who don't know and are used to the tomato based, Texas-style bbq sauce. There's also one from the Pee Dee River that runs through NC & SC that is mustard based. I always thought Pee-Dee was a funny name and then later heard that when Stephen Foster wrote the song, "Way down upon the Pee-Dee River" , that friends encouraged him to change the name and it became "Way Down Upon the Suwanee River." Lol, how do like that for a silly piece of historical trivia?
