freshwater sharks!!

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

When I enter my pond all goes silent but the beating of my heart.....
Easing through the water I try to make as few waves as possible.
I see a riffle and freeze.....(silent,be quiet) I whisper to myself.
Reaching down I go for the lily...(must repot lily...) i repeat as though trying to smooth my tattered nerves.
Grasping the lily I start to ease up, almost homefree I think.
Back stepping I make my way to the edge of the pond..almost there!
OH NO! the water starts churning and i gasp as cold scales brush my feet.HURRY! my head screams.
TOO LATE!
All at once those freshwater sharks start attacking my toes and feet, my calves......NOOOOOOOOOO!
I'm frozen as their fishy lips attack!
Another day in the pond, my fault...it is thier domain....
The (sharks) are my goldfish and sunfish. It normally takes less than three minutes for them to start attacking my toes and legs, lol.Fish are so funny, lol!

It really surprised me the first time I entered their
world!

lol.me too!

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

LOL! I go in with rubber boots on as it tickles too much to have them nibbling at my toes and legs. I'd be jumping all around squealing and never get anything done in the pond if I went in barefoot.

St. Petersburg, FL(Zone 10b)

This is a little off thread. Years ago when I use to wade fish you had to wear long pants. If you wore shorts the pinfish would go after the hair on your legs. Before you know it there could be up to 50 of them all-a-pulling!

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

LOL OUCH! I'd be squealing at that hehe.

Temple, GA(Zone 7b)

Hi there! I had freshwater Bala Sharks in my indoor aquarium. I am in Zone 7 b. Do ya think they would bother the koi, or would it be way too cold for them?

Thank, Traci S

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Traci, the bala sharks are a tropical fish and the water where you are would be wayyyyyy too cold for the little guys.
