It has been suggested that the plant in your image is Microsorum grossum based on lack of clearly visible veination (as opposed to midrib) for M. pustulatum, number of segments (>4) M scolopendria and known misidentification in cultivations for HI & FL. Ref: "Fern Grower's Manual", Hoshizaki & Moran, p. 380, 381, 385 & 387.

I bought one sold as M.pustulatum. After posting it on a board I'm told its really the Wart Fern. Is it California hardy? And that zone 6 rating has to be wrong.
