A Tussock Moth Caterpillar

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

I'm pretty sure this is another Tussock Moth cat. I once had it IDed but I can't find it now

That's one cool looking cat! For some reason it reminds me of a groomed/clipped dog, maybe a Schnauzer. Looks better than some of the dogs in the Westminster dog show.

LOL Mandy!

BG, it is cute! Looks like it has been in the lichens.

Great photos. I wouldn't mind having a dog with fur like that.

I never look on this forum (goodness knows why not - too jealous of all your hummers I suspect lol)
I agree that looks like the same family Stacey. The banded here looks a little similar http://images.google.com/images?q=Tussock+moth+caterpillars&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&filter=0 but yours isn't in my book so it probably doesn't occur over here :(

Thanks for looking for me Phi. It's not a Banded Tussock Moth - we have those too... http://davesgarden.com/t/384933/ I came across this one on another search and wrote its name down somewhere! Gone with the wind...LOL
