What a beautiful rock, RD. The marbles are a finishing bright touch to it tho. I'd love to see your whole yard sometime. I sometimes spread colored aquarium gravel or glass dragon's tears on the surface of pots of plants.

Leaflady, here is a picture of the backyard in 99,I just got the rock,it has a Sumac tree in it,I told them I would buy it,if they could deliver without killing the tree.

What a beutiful backyard & what an amazing transformation!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Root your yard is beautiful! What a change you've made. Love your rock. Of course, I'm a big honking rock hound myself.

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Hehe doc I saw the title and thought for sure that that was the case. lol It's beautful you have a great garden!

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

Looks like you've found some of your marbles again, root :P

Is that plant with the magenta/green leaves just behind your marbles in picture #2 a coleus? It's very striking. Also, love the gator by the rock! I'd always thought those things were tacky, but I actually like it the way you did it. Most creative!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I believe so,it is from SoCal!so are the 2 behind it.

Seed, knew you would like a good rock.

Mystic,I guess I did not find them all,I'm dumb enough to buy a rock,LOL!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kristi, have you got a new name that I'm not aware of? LOL!! Doc is confusing me here today.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL,Talk about lost my marbles,I typed Kristi, backed up daleted and typed seed!I'm losing it,sorry Kristi, worst part is mentally I did it knowingly!
Thanks S for pointing that out.

Speaking of rocks,I met a guy today that makes them for ponds, out of constuction material and molds, will have to look into this more.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

That sounds like it could be interesting. I love rocks until it is time to move them. I think I've done that about 3 or 4 times now and they are staying right where they are.

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

LOL, Brugie! I surely don't blame you for not wanting to lug rocks around any more. We hired a crew to install our pond so we didn't have to lug all the rocks. They put in 2 TONS of rock for our pond, and we could have used more than that. I've kicked around putting in rock borders on my gardens, but I don't feel like lugging rock around the yard. I like those concrete edgers that are so popular, too. Those are no better than lugging rock. I'll stick with the plastic edging for now...until I'm rich and famous and can hire somebody else to put the rock in for me :)

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey Root, Marbles are pretty and I like the rock too, but Where did you get that Gator?? I love him, that would look so cool with a couple of them circling my pond.... :o)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

BG, I'm just plain too old and out of shape to do the rock thing. I have big ideas, but when it comes to doing it, fooey!! Root helped me do a lot this spring. Otherwise, I'd be sitting here with the old gardens and probably not nearly as many tropicals.

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

Brugie, I'm only 31 and I STILL won't do "the rock thing"! Arthritis runs in my family and it tends to start young (around age 35-40). I don't want to help it along any!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Good for you. Moving rocks is something for a strong young guy to do. I'll hire help if I ever, and I doubt it, want to move rocks again. Stay well.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Alright, gotta start a new thread, here come the fake rocks!
