I posted this question also in the Cactus and succulents forum...
I was wondering about repotting Christmas cactus. I have two of them that really could probably use a new pot. Do they like being a little crowded in the pots or will they flower better if I give them a little more room? Should I use the cactus/succulent soil mix, or a regular potting soil? Is it too late to repot them now? My pink one normally flowers in late Jan. early Feb. The yellow one is a new plant that I bought this past spring after I saw some posts on DG. It was in bloom when I bought it in the early spring.

Thank you much, darius! That exactly the information I needed. I can see a few areas I can improve upon to increase flowering of my cacti.
It says to use old dry cow manure which is wrong. It should be composted cow manure.
as these are arboreal and epiphytic in the wild the best 'compost' to use is leaf mould.
I also say "Thank you" Darius. I see many things that I'm doing wrong. Thanks for the link. I have added it to my bookmarks.

Thanks for the link. I saved it to favorites. It will come in handy soon. I think mine should be repotted too. Robbie
Thanks darius for the hyperlink. I'm not having trouble, at the moment, with my cacti but I've bookmarked the info just in case.
Oh my goodness. I checked out the link above and learned alot of great info about my Christmas Cactus. I am overworking mine I guess... it has been flowering since November. It was flowering really heavily in late December and all through January but has not stopped and here it is March. I didn't realize that I was supposed to cut back on the water and I am not sure that I want to. I love the flowers!
I have had mine for 3 years and haven't repotted it. I even have it by a heat vent but it does get a lot of natural light in the northeast corner of my house. I haven't tried propagating it either. I am going to give it a try after reading how easy it is.
Thanks again for the link. It is very helpful!
