Can't remember what thread you inquired about the mexican fiesta vine but here is a pic as of this morning 5 celcius and with a little hail in the rain last night
loss of memory thread
Does Mexican Fiesta vine have another name? It sort of looks like dolichos lablab. Nice pictures of your arbour. I can't even see mine, it's buried under a hops aurea that has long since escaped into my neighbour's trees.
Yes, those are buds but I can't tell you when it will bloom, depends on the plant, depends on the weather. Nice browallia, it's tougher than it looks.
Hi jagonjune! Does that little beauty (Mexican Fiesta)
propagate from seeds or cuttings...asking ever, ever so
nicely (pleading actually). What a beauty and seems to
do very well in our zone-at least it got, very nicely I
might add, to the flowering stage. Can it be brought
inside for the winter...how will you overwinter it?
Started it from seed in the sortof GH this winter and planted it out on June 1. Will collect seeds and can send you some. It is a late bloomer so it was an accidental good match with the MG. The MG's bloomed their little brains out from about 5 days after transplant until August when they start to lose the real early light in that area. But by then the fiesta vine was doing its stuff. I always pick annual vines for that arbor because I'm never sure that I'm going to keep it there.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I really like that
vine! The fact that it is in full bloom and not just
starting is a real plus in my books!
Mina Lobata, is the name...an annual vine in some parts of the country.....great coverage and fast to boot! Elaine
Sounds better and better all the time!!
