A Seedling Is Blooming
I'm a Mama AGAIN!
You did a great job growing out those seedlings......
Wow beautiful bloom. Congrats. Does it have whiskers leaves?

No, the Whiskers leaves are on the other seedling from this cross. It too has buds and the leaves on it are huge compared to this one.
CC this bloom is so big and heavy that it took 3 evenings before it managed to fully open LOL. The plant itself is 7 1/2 feet tall.i have had a lot of pleasure watching the seedlings grow this year.

Just looks great. Looks much darker than its mother. lol. I do not mean you CC! Did most of the seedlings from this cross come out so pink?
I love your pic also RA!
Very nice pink color from that cross although it is much to heavy on the suaveolens genes for my taste. Lol, as most are probably thinking though, it sure would be nice to cross to Rothkirch to bring out the length on those tendrils. Ludger, has some Avalon x Rothkirch and Rothkirch x Avalon seedlings underway though so perhaps in the not to distant future we will have some much better pink aurea types to work with. Theres just not enough pure pink aurea or versicolor hybrids out there as of yet.
Congrats to you both, RA and CC.
Congrats RuthAnn. It's a nice pink color!
Cala, I like the form of this flower, but I must admit that this monitor is on the blink. Adds a green tinge to the color of everything. I can't wait to check this one out back at work where I can more fully appreciate this hybrid. I'm just happy she was lucky enough to get a nice pink from this cross. Lets us know a bit more about what was passed on to whiskers.
Very nice! Good job, both of you.
Last one, a daytime picture but this bloom never fully opens until about 11:00 pm so I am hoping this is a trait of this first flower only.
This shows true to the color of the actual flower, the night shots kept coming out as a darker pink that it really is. I was not trying to mislead you, just wanted to get a fully opened flower pic.
That's a beautiful brug. I learn something new everyday on this forum! I never knew a plant that opened at 11:00 pm! Is this the sleeping pattern of some brugs? I think I'm running to look at all the wrong times!
