May I introduce WillisGardens !

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

A few days ago I went to visit my new friends at their family farm a few miles from here. It is a visit I look forward to every year.

They have the most fantastic garden I have yet to see in my area. They are so knowledgeable they will be a great asset to Dave's Garden. And they are the nicest people you could want to meet. (hehe . . . and they like to cook!)

I have been acquainted with them for 3 years and finally, in a few days they will be guests at my home for an Indian Dinner along with the people who introduced us! I am very excited to have them come to my home!

I know all you wonderful people will give them a warm DG welcome.

Thank you

The picture is their Flower "bed". Isn't that sweet?

Hi there and welcome to our great garden community. You have met a lovely lady in Arlene. She has a heart of gold. I have been lucky enough to meet her and look forward to seeing her again soon. I live out here in So. Calif. and only 7-10 miles from Arlene's other home. I hope you enjoy yourself here.

A warm welcome to you, WillisGardens, from the concrete canyons of New York City. There are no strangers here, only friends you haven't met yet. Glad you met Arlene (TwinLakesChef). She will introduce you to the font of treasures contained in the beds of Dave's Garden. See you in the forums if not in the Bronx. Padre

Thank you all for the welcomes. We have enjoyed getting to know TwinLakes Chef and are glad she introduced us to Dave's Gardens. Eight years ago we moved from Shorewood, WI to the family farm in zone 4 Iowa and have been busy developing both flower and vegetable gardens. We have tried to plant a wide variety of flowers to give us the longest blooming season. We grow vegetables that are not available in our local stores. When we give away the oversupply we need to give out recipes so people (other than Arlene, of course) will know how to prepare them. Even though we are Master Gardeners, we still have a lot to learn.

I was just at their house for lunch and "begged" for the soup recipe.

Gracia gave it to me and I said, "Oh, there is some wonderful herb in here ~ what is it?". She said, No, that when she made the soup a few days earlier there were no herbs in it.

Well, Tom admitted that when he reheated the soup for our luncheon, HE had sneaked in some herbs! LOL

It was OUTSTANDING!
