Another winner, Puttytat. I have added it to my wish list.

I may be wrong, but the photo posted by Puttytat is incorrect. Description in the iris checklist reads: S. Muted yellow, trimmed muted purple and dotted with tiny brown spots. F. muted yellow, trimmed muted purple, tiny brown dots all over. Beards bronze.

Margie, I found a photo of 'Ominous Stranger' on Google and you are right, the colors are different.

If you go to 'Ominous Stranger' on the PDB, in the upper right hand corner you will find a place to report any errors you see.

Thanks, guys - I didn't keep the source on this one but will definitely replace.

Puttytat, if the picture you posted is not 'Ominous Stranger' do you know what it is? It is so beautiful I would like to keep it on my wish list under its correct name - thanks.

Good to see you back!

OK everyone, I scouted out my old orders and this iris came from Schreiner's some years ago. Big S could make a mistake, but if so, it's their first mislabeled plant in almost 20 years of buying history. I've also checked into a LOT of old catalogs and I wonder if this isn't just a case of lighting and growing conditions? One 35mm photo I kept shows the falls looking more yellow than this digital image.
I'll probably get another plant to compare - but to NoH20 - if it isn't Ominous Stranger, I haven't a clue!

Happy Holidays to all!

Well Ladies, whatever it's name is - it sure is pretty. Now how should I write it down on my wish list? :)
