Beautiful day so far Sept. 11

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Remember the ones who died and those who have been left behind from the 9/11/2001 event. I'm concerned that too many have forgotten just who started this war in the middle east.
Remember the family of the prime minister of Sweden who was murdered yesterday while shopping. She was stabbed to death.

I just went to the van for some stuff and it is so nice out. Not hot, not too chilly. No rain but it feels as tho there is moisture in the air. A wonderful day for moving in Kyle and Holly's mobile home. I'm expecting the man who is moving it to call any minute now and then I'll get Kyle up and going if he isn't already at the trailer site down in the pasture. I wish Holly could be here but it's too far a drive for her to come in the morning and then have to go to work this evening. I think the pregnancy is beginning to sap some of her energy. I've noticed she has been leaving much sooner on Sundays than she use too. Don't know just when she will move here tho. Probably not for a few more weeks. Kyle still needs to get the trailer in place(it will just be moved here and set along side or in line with the actual site today), finish the water hookups, pay the electric co-op so they will install the meter and dusk to dawn light, etc. first I think. Then she will have a few weeks of that 80 mile each way drive before her maternity leave and vacation time begin. I think she is planning on being home all of November and maybe part of October. Some of it depends on when her doctor says she can't make that drive anymore. Then she plans on being a stay at home mommy.
Monday I went to Powell Gardens and came home loaded as usual. Mostly butterfly bushes this time. One large one in a 10 gallon(I think) pot that is about 4' high out of the pot and in full bloom. It has varagated leaves. Also 3 in one gallon pots, 2 Royal Reds and 1 Pink Delight. They had discarded a pot of small Elephant Ears so I took that as well as a large pot of plants that look like they might well be small Blue Mist spirea with some tall coleus in the middle. I'm planting the BMs in hopes that I am right about them being that and will take cuttings from the coleus. Then there were 2 pots of Abutalon(Flowering Maple)with about 5 plants in each one. Bright deep red blooms. One is already potted and the other one I'll likely take to the cafe' for the remainder of the season. There were some Dusty Miller, blue/white salvia, and cornflowers which need deadheading which also came home with me. Oh yes, some short insect infested canna which are now planted in a pot and will get a good washing with flea shampoo. I'll prune off the infested foliage and burn it. I put systemic insecticide in the soil in hopes that it will kill off all the insects the bath didn't get. This insecide doesn't affect meally bugs which are a major problem with canna. I have no idea which cultivar it is but I am sure it is a dwarf.
One of the rats is now loose in the house. I often leave the cage door open to let them climb around on the outside and feel they have more freedom. This morning Anastasia jumped or fell off the dishwasher and is undoubtedly having a ball investigating the house. Mostly the kitchen I guess. The other one, Marie, isn't that adventursome and seldom ventures outside of the cage. No cats will be allowed in the house until I find and capture Anastasia.
I usually go to the cafe' on Thursday afternoon or evening and today I'll hopefully be taking more plants again. Then I'll spread more of the mulch we got from the fair grounds months ago. I need to impress on one of the owners the need to pick out & buy her tulip bulbs, and get the aqua baskets so I can get them planted in the perennial beds.
Much to get done today. Keep each other in your thoughts and prayers. We haven't heard from several of our regulars lately. I hope that just means they are busy but ok. I really miss hearing from Horseshoe, Lisa, MiniShultz, WingNut, and others whose tags don't come to my failing memory right at this moment. GOD bless and keep each and all of you today and always. How many of you pray the Prayer of Jabez and the Lord's Prayer daily? If we do that and repeat the Apostles Creed often and really think about what we are saying it can be a powerful time of prayer for us.
