VERY NICE! Sort of like a gardenia bloom from this angle. How do manage a seedling that big in your climate? I have not had any luck with brugs here in Missouri, the lower leaves yellow and drop off and no blooms. Any advice?
You did a really good job with that picture. That is so pretty.Does anyone know where you can buy one of these plants or seeds?Wanda/Ashville Ohio.
Lovely...!
Toxic, I planted these seeds last Dec. and pushed them all winter and summer with MG 2 x a week. It is normal for the lower leaves to yellow and fall off but you should have had blooms. These plants must form a Y before they will flower. If you have a basement or a cool room that you can have them go dormant in over the winter you will have a head start next year as they will not have to start growing again from the beginning stages.
Wanda, go over to the Brugmansia forum. There are several places to purchase Brugs.Off the top of my head I would recommend Logees.
Thanks for the advice. Next time I get one, I will greatly increase the fertilizer. Should I pinch it to make it branch? Is that what you mean by forming a Y? My last one had only one main stem, maybe that was why it did not bloom. I finally let the frost kill it because it was too ugly to keep.
No, don't pinch it. You may be pinching off the beginnig of a Y as it forms at the growing tip.It will Y on it's own if given sun, water and fertilizer.
