Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

And a chilly good morning to all of you. Our thermometer reads 42 this morning, we have a brisk wind and a few raindrops in the air. Wow! this decended on us overnight. During the night there was some lightening close by but only enough rain to make the tire tracks and footprints in the dust go away. The forecast for the weekend says cooler with a 30 degree night on Sunday. I guess I had better get out the blankets and stuff that I use to cover the tomato plants and squash.
In the past few days I've been canning green beans. I'll have to be sure to pick what is left before I leave for my weekend. The tomatoes are ripening and we have been enjoying fresh sliced mators with our dinners along with lots of corn on the cob. It's sad to think that might be over soon. Corn and tomato season is way too short! There might be enough ripe tomatoes to start canning them by now. Most of mine are picked green every year and canned as they ripen on the table in the basement.
This morning I have to take the diesel pickup in to the dealership to find out what is going klunk. Good thing it is still under warranty. When we went to pick up the greenhouse we noticed it, and it got worse on the trip of about 800 miles. They promised to have it finished by Thursday afternoon.
The greenhouse is all in crates and boxes, will be put up possibly starting Thursday, weather (no wind) permitting. I hope to be able to get pictures of the assembly but since I will be leaving Friday I might not be here when they put it up. Might just come home and find it has popped up like a mushroom while I was away.
Have a great day everyone, count your blessings.
