A Snowhermit Cross

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

First flower opening this morning :o) It's a BF x Whiskers baby. I'm tickled to get a first year bloom on it.

One thing I noticed right off was the long buds looked a lot like a versicolor. The calyx has a big split on one side....

... and then it forks on the other side.

... you can't miss those long tendrils and big serrated leaves.

It looks like it belongs to the Mountain series, eh? That pink one is a beauty!

Nice picture Sue. I was so tickled that one of her seedlings turned Pink for me. Her yellows and whites are so pretty too. Long tendrils/spurs are what I like and she seems to get those with her crosses. I think she does a great job. Don't you just love to grow them from seed?

I've had a blast watching blooms open. I get lost out there checking out each and every flower. I've had probably 5 or 6 seedlings open in the last couple of days. It's so exciting :o)

I'll post another shot of this one as it opens up more.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Beautiful Poppy Sue.

This one looks very close to Whiskers....leaves and long whiskers.

Here's a picture from today. I think the real color's a bit paler than the photo shows.
