Gorgeous plant! I stumbled across a reference to it, and went looking for more info (then I found this right in my own backyard. You posted this almost a year ago - how's it doing? (As I pencil it on the "gotta have" list for next year, lolol!)
Hi Terry -
I just love this plant. It rustles like dried paper when you touch it. It had a tough time this past winter. Didn't seem to like the constant wet, the cold didn't seem to bother it, but the constant wet about did it in.
I lifted it, put in some better draining soil, replanted it. It sulked for a couple of months, but is coming along nicely now. Gets full sun til about this time of day (2PM) and then full shade the rest of the day. This is its second location because as a young plant it just couldn't take the full impact of the sun. It might have done OK if it had some growing behind it before being planted in full summer sun. Seems to be a slow grower, but oh so pretty.
Oh, wow...please tell me you're going to post an updated image in the PDB. That's sooo pretty! One description said it looked like miniature hops, and I can see the resemblance.
I think I may have to try it. I've got a very sunny (hence very dry) raised bed where the rest of my herbs, cut flowers and other miscellany goes, and I think this could look really great spilling over the edge. But based on your advice, I think I'll try to get it yet this summer and plant this fall, or wait until next fall to transplant, and give it some growing time before the full impact of our summer bears down on it.
Terry, I'm telling you I just did slip the new image into the line for PDB. :-)
I also checked the record and perhaps I should have read what I entered into the comments more carefully before I first planted it:
"Ornamental oregano, trailing habit, slow growing, needs VERY well drained soil."
Duh!
I would like to use this picture to illustrate an article on ornamental oregano.
Should I credit Happenstance for the photography? the phot is Happenstance_1052365191_243.jpg
Is there hi-res available?
Thanks.

I fell in love with this plant. It has totally died in one place that I have it. It is doing okay in a different spot. I did not take it out of the pot, but I wanted to use it as a container plant. I bought it only 6 weeks ago. What do people think?
