You don't have to worry about mites this year

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

because every mite in the world decided to come live at my house! They appeared out of nowhere and wreaked havoc in just a few days. I could see the little things crawling around having a big free for all party! I stripped most of the leaves off my plants yesterday, and sprayed them. My yard is now an official mite war zone!! arghhhh!

Just had to check this out. I just went through a week of havoc with them. DH sprayed 2 gallons of water/Avid, no more spidermites, for awhile, hope forever!

They are evil little things! I guess they were bound to show up eventually, but I didn't realize they could do so much damage so fast! I wish I could afford Avid, it sounds like the way to go. I made an emergency trip to Wally world and found some Ortho systemic insect killer with Isotox, I hope it works for me, I'll spray again in a few days. I'm so happy that it finally rained last night, it's been dry and hot for 2 months, which is very unusual for the pacific northwest, where it usually rains and rains.

If your brugs are small enough, I have always have had good luck with Neem oil against mites, Carena. I wear disposable gloves and spray with one hand and move the leaves with another so I get the undersides very well.

Thanks, Kell, I'll get some. I want my brugs to get big and pretty like yours!!

I have also been adding sticker to all my sprays. It supposedly makes the spray cling to the plant. A friend told me to use it with foliar feed also. You use just a tad so it is economical! I have no idea if it really helps.

Pardon my ignorance Kell but what is sticker? I've got a lot to learn. LOL

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I too, have never heard of "sticker". I assume it might be some type of oil?

There are several brands.

Well, it has a Henderson, North Carolina label on it. LOL maybe I can find here. Thanks Kell.

I bought the same stuff, Carena. I hope that it works, it's the NASTIEST smelling I've ever used! Cala said to spray every three days for 21 days to break the life cycle. We had almost a week of rain, so I haven't seen very many since then, but I'm going to go through with the whole program anyway. I've been denying that winter would come back, but it's getting close enough that I want to make sure that I don't bring any bugs in with the plants. Bringing plants inside........nope, not ready to think about where they will all go!
