Temperature Question

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Do the Brugs normally bloom more or less once the temperatures cool down? And pollenating, is that easier once it cools down? So far, I am a failure! LOL I tried on nine blooms and nothing. Our weather is awesome right now albeit unexpected-50s in the eve and mid 70s during the day. What happened to summer???

Bad, the pollen is more viable in cooler temps..the normal temp range of most wild brugs in habitat is about 50-60 nights and 70-80 days........Andean habitat.Thats why brugs do so well in Calif..they need day and night temp differences of about 10-20 degrees.Thats why in the spring and fall we get the biggest flushes of bloom on most varieties except suaveolens..they originated in Brazil, higher temps and humidity.

I think I need to move to California! LOL I don't think I'd turn up my nose at Brazil though either. Thanks a bunch for the helpful answer Kyle. I have had many plants Y over the last few weeks but the buds have been at a stand still. Maybe they will take off now. The only one that has bloomed is still the big white one. It is on it's fourth flush. I was camera-less when the last 15 opened. It is such a pretty one!

Hey Kyle, those temps are me! LOL Of course now I am ashamed my brugs are not showboats!
