Plume Grass Seeds

I would give anything to find these seeds..I live near Bancroft and its all over our hihways,,but no one knows a thing about it,,Thanks kathy..Pictures would be appreciated because it is a confusing plant some called it Reed Canary Grass and it isnt,,Thanks

Do you have any pictures of the grass? Off hand I cannot think of many that are hardy in 3 but that is mostly because I am only familiar with the ones hardy in 6. I'd be inclined to think it would be a Panicum or possibly Miscanthus. A picture or description (color, size of blades, description of seed heads or flowers) would sure help. :)

How tall is the plant? Could it be pampas grass. Does it have tall plumes that look almost like feathers? Are the leaves very long and slender. Go to the plant data base and look at pampas grass.

I think its the stuff they call "NORTHERN"PAMPAS GRASS,it grows all over the place,never have been real sure of the true name.......

If it's Canary Reed Grass, I think the seeds are sterile. It moves around by runners, forming huge colonies. Grows all over around here.
