Hiya Puttytat,
Just wanted you to know how beautiful your picture was of your Iris. My husband and I are new to collecting seeds from the pods of lilly's but are interested also in the iris's. I live in Georgia...would love to get into trading...let me know if you'd like to help me get started :-)
To Annabellegabby - We can probably work something out next season - thanks for the compliment!
Hey puttytat!
Your most welcome and I would love to. Nice meeting ya :-)Off to see what else is out there. When do you start gathering seed or bulbs Puttytat? Sorry if I appear stupie...new to the iris world but thinkin' I'm gonna be a big fan if I get started on these. Theyre awesome from what Ive seen so far :-)
Annabelle - Iris increase their rhizomes (not true bulbs as they are not dormant) and are usually dug and divided each summer and replanted in the fall. Seeds of iris are brand new plants and will not look like the parents: you don't want seeds if you want to grow existing varieties. Send me a direct Email and I'll get some detailed information to you!
Puttytat!!!
You have mail :-) Thanks so much for your help! Looking at all of your Iris's...They are ALL beautiful, wow!!!!!!
