I finally have a incredible pink and it is not in my yard!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I received this as Butterfly and it sure does not look like Butterfly to me. Does it to you? It never opens more than it is in the picture, which is not much. What could it be? It is much darker and the pink goes further up than my Rosamond.

Yep! That's what my Butterfly looked like. Love it!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It never opens up Gloria?

Maybe I had this one labeled wrong then? I had that this one was Butterfly. It stood much straighter out instead of hanging down and it seemed shorter in length.

Hmmm looks like my Butterfly to. I got it from Glory so it should be named correctly.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Which one Donna? The first one? I was looking at the database here and it has both types. Another quandary! LOL

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

If it's not in your yard, where are sneaking around comptemlating stealing it, lol?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

It's very pretty. My butterfly looks like your second picture it never did point down.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

mine doesn't hang either, mine looks like your second pic.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I agree that the second picture is Butterfly. I like the first one too, but have no idea what it is.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It could also be Butterfly. Could be the time of day it was taken, the climate, the growing conditions.... It's hard to ID a brug from a picture.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

This is true Cala!! Though maybe we have another kind of deep pink?? It is not a Rosamond.

I gave it to a friend and just about died when I walked into her yard and saw the color.

Though now I know this climate is capable of a real pink color.

I will take my camera today! Hey, half day at work today so then I will be off this afternoon on a crape myrtle hunt and my DH just handed me my allowance!! My favorite way to spend time!

I looked for a picture of mine and wouldn't you know? I just cleaned out my photo album!! Never fails!
Kell, wonder if you dug your friends tree up, replaced it with a crepe myrtle, she would notice???

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Mine was the same color as Gloria's.

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

my butterfly blooms like the one in the second picture also.
Could it be possible that the first one is pink favorite? It looks similar to mine when in bloom.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

You girls take such beautiful pictures. Now, I've got to get my brugs to blooming stage and find out how to put pictures on the computer.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

If you don't have one yet, ask for a digital camera for Christmas. Easy to work and put into the computer and then on the site. You can also take pictures on a regular camera and when you have them developed, have them put on a CD. Bingo...you are ready to go. Just costs a little more and the digitals are so nice because you can take a picture and a couple of minutes later it is on Daves.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

My husband has been talking about buying a digital camera, so guess that will be the next thing we purchase. When we get it, I'll check back to find out how to put the pictures on the forum.

Here is a picture of my Butterfly.....but remember this guy is blooming in August with temps close to 100º

Oh so many lovely pictures of pink brugs and I am so envious. The only blooms I have had are CG and one on Shredded White. Donna

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It does Glory! Though my tendrils look much longer than your second one. I think your first one, looks like my second one.

Gloria, yours looks so pretty! It seems to open more also. And yours is pinker further up, all could be environmental differences I guess.

All this pink with long tendrils is causing me palpitations!

Poor Donna, we must save her from her pinkless fate!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Love the pink and the tendrils!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kell, check the calyx on the brug that you gave away against the calyx of Rothkirch or one of your other aureas. I don't believe it is Butterfly either.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

For how many slits it has Brugie?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Yes....

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

It sure looks like Aurea Pink, like Glory said.

It does Gloria, but with much longer tendrils. Does Aurea Pink ever open all the way up? Yours sure is a pretty one! How many slits?

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Kell, I bet it's cuz you view your Butterfly at night... and you saw your friends in the daytime. I have the first two blooms on mine. This morning when I went out the older bloom had recurved but the new one still hung down. When I came home this afternoon... both blooms were hanging down. I din't have time to take pics. I look again when I get home tomorrow morning....
