brug brug everywhere a brug

Independence, MO(Zone 5a)

It feels like Christmas in Sept. Today rootdoctor came over to my house and brought me some brugs. We live pretty close to each other....I am still in awww of them. Rootdoctor is such a super person as you all probably know by now :) I am already making plans to make some kind of a diary of all my new babies so i can track thier progress. A new digital camera is for sure in order. I also got some elephant ears that i quickly got into a pot. I am in heaven. I just wanted to share and yes brag about my brugs a little. I also got 2 little brug plants from flowox (another super person, thank you ) so i am off to a great start with brugs. I now understand the excitment of a new bloom. i cant wait.

Tracy,

Congratulations!!! I totally understand your excitement. I just received cuttings from a wonderful lady by the name of Juliana in Houston. I've been drooling over Brugs for almost a year now and just got the nerve to give them a try. I'm with you....longing for the first bloom, but that will come next year. Enjoy!

Hey root, come on up to NY next time!!!!!

Independence, MO(Zone 5a)

Scooterbug...it is happening already...total lose of control... cant think of anything else.. I talked to my mother and sister and tried to explain a brug...and they didnt get it...next year they are both getting one for mothers day like it or not. I refuse to be the only brug addict in the family...LOL

You guys are the neatest.... root there is just a hint of scent. Shall we let our neighbors know about our big plans for this area?

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

WOW, lucky you. New brugs and to meet the rootdoctor! I know what you mean, when you try to explain it to a non-bruger they just don't get it. One look is all it takes for them to say "OOOOH I want one of them."

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You are in such touble now Tracy! Root will turn your yard into a tropical paradise. He has been just waiting to expand! LOL!

You are such a generous man Root, not just of your material goods but more so in the sharing of your incredible spirit!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Hey,I have 12 acres waiting to be "Brugged"
"Cept da house is not big enough for over wintering them all. :~(

??Suppose I could heat the small barn??
When we first insulated and put heat in it for the horses we were conditioning...so funny when the meter reader guy came and saw that dial spinning like crazy. I saw a puzzled look on his face"what the??". He thought we had something illegal going on (growing)...lol
How's this for an EDIT?

But Scooterbug, you have to winter them all over in your zone if you want any size to them! Can you imagine digging so many acres of them? I hope you are young!

Nice to meet you Tracy. Your smile says it all! Go ahead and get the rest of the family hooked....that way you can trade cuttings back and forth and have tripple the plants!

Hi Tracy. Sure glad you and the Doc got to meet. He is a nice guy with a lot of nice plants. I have several in my yard. It is really nice to see who you are. Maybe next year when we have the Iowa Roundup, you KC area people could all come up and visit with us. Would love to meet the rest of you in person.

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Tracy, welcome to the world of brugs. When you are ready for a few more, email me. The people on the brug forum at Dave's are the best!

Beverly Hills, CA(Zone 10a)

Wow!!! You are so lucky. I've just discovered brugs & Dave's! What a great forum. I have a few cuttings started but I'm not too good at waiting so, I must see & smell one ASAP, so, I'm calling every nursery in Los Angeles in search of a brug.

back2back
If you want to see brugs in person, get ahold of SoCal and visit her in Huntington Beach. She is a lovely DG'er and you will really like her. She posted a brug pic here earlier in the summer that was just loaded with blooms.
