Hi debi_z, This looks like The Lily Garden's (2003/2004 catalog, pg. 13) "Yellow Ace," although they say its new this year, and it's marked as C-P, meaning Columbia-Platte Lilies which are bred and grown on their farm.

Their picture looks just like yours and the description says lightly fragrant, large flowered Longiflorum /Asiatic hybrid with beautiful bed shape and color! 4 feet, blooms late June.

Doesn't say who the "parents" are.

mavie, i don't think so. my lily has rusty/red spots, london has black spots.

i've seen a lot of them with the wrong colored spots. :)

This also was marked as the LA Hybrid mixed

I cannot find a name for it; notice ~ no brown spots and
blooms are shaped a little different.

Anyone have a name?

hi twinlakes,
this is my la hybrid from the co-op mix. i got this one bloom and one other one that bloomed pink and i didn't get a shot of that they came out, so you would know it was a flower anyhow. :)
it sure looks like it could be a l.a. hybrid, i was just assuming it was an asiatic, i don't know why. but it still doesn't have those reddish specks. hmmmmmm.

i'll keep a look out for your other l.a. hybrid with no spots. :)

Well, Debi!
Yours is definitely Royal Justice. My second one with no freckles is something different. Maybe a mutant!

Had another lily coop one open today; took a pic and will post it tomorrow or Thurs.

Believe mine was Acapulco and it wasn't very pretty; probably because it so late; sure next year will be better.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

twin, acapulco was one of my last orientals to bloom too and they were gorgeous this year. check it out. i think they are one of the late bloomers because muscadet was one of my first and they are both at the front of the house in full sun. they are a lot "pinker" than i expected. i don't think they look very coral, do you?

Hi debi_z! Just recently joined Dave's and found some time to explore the forums. I bought two potted asiatic lilies this spring to start my first flower garden. They are labelled "Sunray" and look alot like yours--big yellow blooms with reddish brown spots. They are 30" tall and are mature bulbs from the local nursery. Pardon the pots and bag of soil in the background. I just couldn't wait to capture them for my photo album LOL. Looking at these pictures will help me chase away the "mid-winter blues".
