All day yesterday I waited and watched, finally about 8 pm I finally found this lovely Datura "Evening Fragrance" open and smiling at me. Took some photos, and went out this morning to take some more with the ruler. I was soo amazed at the size!!! 7 inches across it measured. I have been growing these for several years and this is the largest one I have seen here. I cannot describe the wonderful smell coming from it, I will capture every single seed from this beauty!!

All those Ohio rains this year have been great for datura. Pretty.
It is now 12:45 pm, and the bloom is closed, I am sure glad I took some photo's last night and again early this morning. I am delighted with this one for sure! And yes, I do believe the rains have helped this along.
