Dracs for SASE

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Looks like I am gonna have quite a few this year. Just line up if interested all you need do is send SASE and I will start sending them out right after the wedding on 9/6.
Here's a pic of the seed pods, each red/orange pod has 2-3 seeds and I plan to send 5-10 pods each. Have now been told it is best to leave them in the pod till planting which should be done asap upon receipt, just wear a pair of gloves when popping seed out as your fingers will get orange if you don't (experience). Believe Shirley said the seeds need stratification before planting also. Sure I will have enough for the first 25 fine folks and then maybe more if there is interest.

I would love to try my luck at planting these seeds. Thank you for the offer. You have mail.

Sweetwater, TX(Zone 7a)

Nice picture - you're so generous! I don't want any seeds, I just have a question. Do these plants really smell like rotting meat when they bloom, so flies will pollinate them? Think I read that, maybe at the Plant Delights site or somewhere.

Black Diamond, WA(Zone 8a)

Thank you so much Candee, I would love some seed. You have mail coming.

Helena, AL(Zone 7b)

I would love to try these also . Let me know what size envelope etc. you need and I will get it out to you on tuesday. I am heading to Illinois for a few days to see the grandkids but will check in from there. You are so sweet to offer these, thanks a bunch!

New Yorker, no these don't smell much at all, once you get into the titantum they really stink, these you wouldn't want to have blooming on your dining room table but you can get close to them without gagging LOL! They smell a bit like sour milk.
Don't worry about sending all the email folks, just send SASE and I'll start getting them out right after Tasha's wedding on 9/6.

Sweetwater, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the info, haighr!

I would love to try these. Thanks for offering them!

May I have some also please?
No mail this coming Monday, so will get SASE out on Tuesday.
Should we send a padded envelope, or what kind of envelope should we send?

Albany (again), NY(Zone 5b)

I'd like some. Will send padded envelope and label and stamps on the inside so you can just plop the label and stamp on and send them right back to me.

Unique and generous offer - thank you so much!

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

I would like to try some. Could you include me in the sase ?
If so, I need to know how many stamps and your address.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

my sase stamped envolope went out friday to you Candee. please let me know when it gets there . thanks Imzadi (Marie B)

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

I count 20 so far, sure I have enough to cover those above and no doubt a few more. Once I get them out to the above, I'll post with what is left.
If anyone else is interested, just post below, cause I am sure there will be at least some more.
Any type of envelope will probably do, the seeds are in the little pods and I will wrap in towel in case the pod opens in transit and just regular postage for a letter envelope if that is what you are using.

Please remember that we are going out of town on Thursday for the wedding and won't be back until Monday, September 8 so no envelopes will be mailed until about September 9 or 10.

Lappeenranta, Finland(Zone 3a)

Please....heheh, say that you have even two seeds left for me....I just love these Amorphophalluses, Voodo-Lilys and Dracs!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Send SASE Mitjo, no problem.
Kat, Padre and Imzadi, your envelopes arrived today and yours will be in the mail tomorrow. Didn't write much, a few seeds in each orange pod, wear gloves or prepare to scrub orange off your fingers!

Sweetwater, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to interupt...I thought that the folks on this thread would appreciate seeing the picture of the Giant Voodoo Lily (Amorphophallus titanum), from the Plant Delights catalog - wow - that's a big one!!http://www.plantdelights.com/Catalog/Current/Detail/01775.html

Independence, MO(Zone 5a)

I think I might like to try that one....

wow that pic from Newyorker..it almost looks like it could eat a whole person

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

I am new to this...where is it best to grow this? I noticed someone from zone 4 asking for seeds and have noticed some other plants will survive from zone 4 in zone 3. I'm in zone 3a and if it grows here, I would love to have a few.

Montezuma, NM(Zone 5b)

This looks like fun. I'll send SASE tomorrow if you still have pods left

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

haighr......I would love to try these....I live where it is warm and very humid....they should do very well here...If you have seeds left I will get a SASE out to you today.. :O)

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Am I too late? I keep forgetting about this forum.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Should have enough to include up to Calalily right now and more to come.
The titanum is the very, stinky, foul, dead meat smelling one. Don't think you want to try one of those and they can get 15 feet tall, are very rare to bloom!

Palmyra, VA(Zone 7a)

I would like to have a few seeds if any are available.

Richland Center, WI(Zone 4a)

Would like to try some if you have any seed left. Thanks for sharing. Tami

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

Me too, please (if you have enough) I love unusual flowers and these are definitely unusual!!

Kingston, GA(Zone 7b)

I would be interested in trying some of these seeds. Please let me know if you get anymore extras. Thank you for this kind and generous offer. CountryBumkin

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Hi Haighr
I would love to try this plant as well...please
email me if you have any seeds left and I will send
a self addressed envelope.
Thank you!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

I would like to try a few also. As long as they are not the stinky kind. LOL How do you think they would do in my zone?
I have great luck with my bamboo, pampas grass, roses, and elephant ear. It sure is an atractive plant.
Let me know what the cost of shipping and size of envelope.
TJan
