Where did you find this lovely groundcover?
Thank you.

I pinched a piece from a friend. I have not seen it for sale anywhere. Roots very easily in a terrarium type container.

Does it like sun or shade?? It's so cute - a friend of mine gave me a small pot last week, not sure where to plant it.

Hi Azalea,
The selaginella likes moist shade. I have it planted under a bench, which is under some trees. It is shallowly rooted, so be sure to water it often. Another good use for this plant is as a groundcover around large houseplants. Hope this helps!

Great, I have a stone path in my shade garden, I think it should do fine there between the stones. I tried plain old moss there, but it died away. I have been looking for something low like this that will do well in shade.

I bought a 4" pot last summer, and soon after repotted it into a gallon pot. It has thrived since in full sun, even through some +15 degree weather this winter (nowithstanding a "minimum temperature of 40 degrees" reported on some websites).

I'm planning to try using it as a groundcover next to lawn (separated by metal edging). Note that it is considered an invasive pest in New Zealand and Northern Ireland.
