Hi Weezi, this is a very pretty sedum. I myself just had started a couple of Frosty Morn last year and I do love the look of it. I read the hyperlink describing the height to be 8-12 inches high. Is that all the taller your plants really are ? Now we had alot of rain this spring here in PA but, my Frosty Morns are probably closer to 24 inches high. And of coarse are falling apart so I don't like them as well. Do you know if they can be pinched back in the spring to keep them from getting too tall ? The 12 inch height would be perfect I would think.

Yardgirl, this is my first year with Frosty Morn, so I'm unsure about the height. I had to do some research and that is what was listed... maybe they are wrong. I'll check into it. The size and habit of the plant may vary depending on soil conditions, moisture, temps, etc... who knows. I'll have to email the person who sent me this sedum to see what her experience has been with height and pinching back. I'll post again when I find out.... WZ

Thanks Weezi, I'll be watching for your post. Hope you didn't think I was questioning your info on the hyperlink. Instead I am really hoping that is correct and I just need to do something with mine to keep it at that nice height. I still love the plant though, It makes for a nice break between my daylily and coreopsis foliages. I sure hope you like yours as well.

No problem, yardgirl. I think we all have to question entries when we see something that doesn't look right. That's why we have the best PDB on the web! I know what you mean about the tall sedums 'falling apart'. My Autumn Joy starts out so compact, a lovely sculpted ball, and before the summer is over it looks like the cat layed on the middle of it! LOL!

I pinch mine back several times during the summer so they are fuller and not so tall.

Thanks so much for the info, Azalea. That's just what we needed to know. How tall would yours get if you didn't pinch it back?

Thanks Azalea ! And do you wait untill they are at the height you like before you start pinching them? Or when?
