broots, that's beautiful. I bought 3 of those plants this year and 2 of them survived. Do they have to have full sun to bloom? MIne are quite small still; we have had rain and cool weather every day since early June..

Where can I buy this plant? I am from a small town (11,000) and mostly depend on catalogs. If you can tell me of a source please e-mail me: avalenti@bellsouth.net
Thanks, Annetta

Anetta, you can ask for someone to e-mail you without posting your e-mail addreess in a thread. Paying members of DG can click on your and send you an e-mail. This is much more secure than just everyone being able to read you e-mail address. I think I ordered mine from Park's or Wayside.

Hi Woodspirit. Thanks for your kind comments. I think they should have full sun to do well. Mine didn't do anything the first year I bought them. Think I have had them for four years now & last year they didn't even bloom. I am thinking of tearing them out. Right now they are pretty straggly but maybe I will wait til spring & see if they make it through the winter. We have had the same weather that you have had. All it does is rain.

Annetta I have checked out the US companies that I deal with & I haven't found it offered as a plant, but I know there are probably lots. However I did find the seeds. You might have to do a search. I bought mine as a plant by mail order here in Canada. I know what you mean about living in a small town. I live in a very small town of 5,500 & I totally depend on mail order. I wish you luck in finding the plants.

I really like the plants and the rocks too. Did you make the mushroom. that is my kind of yard ornament.

Thankyou busybee. No I didn't make the mushroom. I'm not that talented, sure wish I was though.

Easy from seed.

Hi broots,

Your picture just showed up as my random image, so I wanted to thank you for it. It's a beautiful plant, and one I hadn't known about before. Did you take this pic in a public garden somewhere? Looks like a nice place to stroll around. Anyway, thanks again,

Shannon

Hi Shannon. Boy am I ever late getting back to you. When I posted the photo I forgot to check off 'Watch Thread'. It was in my early days of posting. Thanks for your kind comments. No this isn't in a park, it is in my front yard just as you come up the steps to the front door.

Hi Susan,

Well it looks just great - very well kept. Thanks again!
