Holly moved her 2 horses here this morning. One is a gelding and the other is a mare. Both are bays. Beautiful horses. She brought her dog Goliath with her too. Darcy, our beagle, barkeled constantly for some time when they first got here. Poor Holly is trying to get in some rest before she and Kyle head back up to her old home to move some big things like the washer and dryer to the storage place she has rented. The trailer won't get here for another few weeks. She is living with her parents for the time being. We will all be so glad when she finally gets to move here permenantly. But that will mean the beginning of an 80 mile drive each way to and from work every day until the baby comes.
I already have 2 hoses going this morning and need to get a third one started. I'll can some tomatoes too. Not that many but they need to be done quickly. It's already hot outside.
We had 101 at the cafe' last night. I love nights like that. I feel that they made enough to more than just pay expenses for the evening. And there is no time for standing around gabbing. Since I actually have 2-3 positions I'm always busy anyway. The special was meatloaf and that is always a big hit with the clients.
I planted some new plants at the cafe' perennial gardens Thursday evening. Also put in markers so they know what is where and where to water, etc. I have lots more I want to put out there too. It will really be packed when I'm thru. I really love doing this. I need to take more plants to the little beds at the church too. Jack and I watered there last week.
Did you ever have a time when it seems that plans are finally coming together and you are really getting somewhere with your yarden? Mary probably does right now with her new greenhouse coming along so well. This has been one of those times for me in the yarden. I got some plant markers last spring that I really liked and this week was able to get 30 more of them. They are recycled dark green plastic MADE IN THE U.S.A. to boot. The company name is Plantid and its just a .com if anyone wants to look them up. $8 for 10 of them. Then I was able to find and order 5# of watersorb crystals for just $26 including postage. They both came this week so I can start potting/repotting for moving plants inside this fall. The crystals website is watersorb.com. The more you buy the cheaper per pound they are. I would have loved to have been able to buy the 50# for just $167.50 including postage but that was a bit out of my reach and ability to get used in my lifetime even if I gave them as gifts to friends and family members. Mary, this may be something you could use in your arid climate. They really hold a lot of water and mean you don't have to water nearly as often.
The 3 remaining baby guineapeas are doing fine. They are now a month old and have moved to the bird house and free range in the yard full time now. What a relief to not have them in the house at all much less all the time. The plant room is a mess again because they lived in there for over a week.
Must go and get some work done. GOD bless and keep each of you. Have a good weekend and remember to rest and worship on the Sabbath.
