What a great picture! I love anything blue and am always looking for ground covers since none of my beds are mature yet. That would really be an eye-catcher! I've never seen it before. Thanks for posting it.

Xyris, can you tell me a little bit about your corydalis? I have 'China Blue' also but it doesn't do much except sit there. I have had it since last summer; it has never bloomed although it is alive. It died down in the heat of summer but is already putting up new growth. It is a few feet away from a bleeding heart that is going gangbusters so it seems like it should be happy in its location. I live in Central Ohio- hot humid summers, cold winters. Any suggestions? I love this plant and I really want it to succeed.

This last year I saw a piece of a mauve/purpley corydalis in the garden center. At the end of the season I snagged a start at half price. I noticed it is coming again as your blue one NoH20. I have the blue too. You are so right they are such a pretty splash of color in shady areas especially in the spring.

In response to previous messages, I think that this plant would be difficult to grow well in most of the U.S. except for the Pacific Northwest. I don't think it likes hot, humid summers, and therefore dies out quickly in those climates. It might do best in constantly moist but not soggy areas in shade.

Ah. Good to know.

I think they look like little blue swimming fishes or tadpoles......
