This brug has bloomed several times for me before, and my mom & sister have it, too. It's bloomed several times for them as well, & never had shredded blooms before. It's been 100º every day for the last week, & the night temps only go down to the 80's. I think that I remember someone saying that one of theirs did this when it was extremely hot, but I'm not sure.
Shredded from the heat?
That looks pretty close. Hope you like it?
Is it Shredded white? If not, we are all in trouble!

No, Gloria, it's NOT shredded white, it's Kristi's White, and it has single blooms, not doubles. It's never had shredded blooms before, and out of about 65 flowers, I counted 10 that were shredded. Some of them are completely shredded, like shredded white, and some of them are only partially shredded. Here's a picture of several of the blooms, some are whole, and some are partly shredded.
I do have Shredded White, Cala sent it to me, and I like it!
Wow, very interesting, so did you start your own Shredded White? What gives?
Thanks, Kyle, I guess this one does, too, at least sometimes! It didn't do it last summer, but it's REALLY been hot for the last week or so. When the temps don't go down much at night, things never really get cooled off, and it makes it feel even hotter the next day.
I was wondering was was going on with my Jamaica Yellow and I have another couple that are shredding. I was beginning to wonder if something was eating them.
That's weird Ronna! Sorry to hear you've been hit with such high temps. Are you suppose to cool down at all? The plant looks like it's holding up well in the heat. Is it fragrant? Last week I had all my blooms cook on the plants. We had a mini heat wave come through. It's suppose to cool down for us this week.
