I have 50 CUPHEA ‘STARFIRE’ for Shipping Fee

Eustis, FL

Dear Fellow Gardener,

I have about 50 Cuphea ‘Starfire’ starter plants left that I’d like to give away for free. Usually we sell them in 4” pots, but because we’re reaching the end of the season, it’s not worth it to repot them.

Rather than throwing away perfectly good plants, I thought we’d give them away to fellow gardeners who enjoy butterflies and hummingbirds as much as we do.

You can come pick one up at the Seminole Springs Antique Rose & Herb Farm if you live nearby or I’ll send it to you via USPS Priority Mail for $4.00. To reserve your plant, visit www.rosesandherbs.com and click on “FREE PLANTS” . One plant per household please.

Thank you,
Traci Anderson

Tracy,
Can I send you the postage cost for one of these? I went to your site, but I don't have credit cards (finally got rid of them all) to pay for the postage. Please let me know.
Deb

Hi Deb,

Sure, you can send us a $3.85 Priority Mail stamp (the reason I'm asking for $4.00 on the website is to cover the credit card processing fees we have to pay)

You still have to reserve your plant at the website so I can keep track of how many we have given away. It also helps me process the shipping labels faster.

If you want to mail your postage rather than paying for it on the website, please mention it in the comments box and select "Pick up at Farm" as shipping option, and "COD" as payment option. That'll get you out of the shopping cart without having to leave a credit card number. Please mail your postage no later than 36 hours after you place your reservation for the free plant.

Our shipping address is
Seminole Springs Antique Rose & Herb Farm
34935 W. Huff Rd.

Hey folks,

Just want to update you that we still have about 20 fee plants left. But please, take the time to read and follow the instructions. You MUST RESERVE your plant at the website at www.rosesandherbs.com, all other requests will have to be ignored. There is just no other way for us to keep track of how many we have given away. It also makes printing shipping labels much easier for us. I'd love to give away free plants in the future, but we are a business and I can't afford to spend a lot of labor time on administering this.

The link for the free plant is on the left side of the homepage (www.rosesandherbs.com). Right above "Win a $50 Gift Certificate". You can also go directly to the free plant by entering the following URL http://rosesandherbs.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SARHF&Product_Code=3040FREE&Category_Code=PFP

Oh, one more thing.... Thank you all for your kind comments about us giving away those plants. That alone makes it worth it. ;-)

Happy gardening.

Hi Traci,
I kind of messed up when I ordered the plant. My computer was real slow and I hit 'add one to cart' several times. When the page loaded it showed I ordered 5. I hit the back button on my computer and it said none in shopping cart, so I hit add one to cart again. When I went to check out it showed I had 6. I really only wanted one, but couldn't figure out how to change it, so I left the total and continued through check out. I did put a note it the COD section trying to explain. I will be sending the postage for 1 plant.

Hi Tracy,
I messed my order up too and tried to email you. Don't know if you got the email cos I lost all emails I received this morning. So if you did email me, I didn't get it. I ordered 2 plants by accident (would like to have 2 if possible but one is great) and then I didn't know how much money I should be sending to you so I emailed. I am sorry for the confusion I caused. I also asked in the same email about the COD and where to send but that was before I came back and saw your second post where you stated about the COD and address. Sorry again---I jumped the gun. I guess I send the amount it stated on the invoice? Thanks again for this offer and I do apologize for my mistakes.

I got my cupheas today! Even tho I only asked for one, somehow I got two. =)

They don't look like they enjoyed the trip, so they are taking a nice long soak to help them recover.

Thanx, weedsnthorns

Got mine today too. They are so cute. I got two also. Gonna read up on them and pot them up this evening. Thank you!

I was just reading about these to figure out how to care for it. I have to plant mine in a container so it can come inside. I came across this picture and wondered if I should maybe plant both of the plants in one container? The picture looks like there's more than one plant and they are entwined together.
