That is such a neat looking plant! I don't know where you are but it appears from the picture, you are in a warmer climate than I am (Indiana).

Cool ... I love the name ... and the plant is spectacular as well!

The really clever bit about this plant is the way it grows out of the ground as a thick fiberous stem for about 6 inches, then bends back over untill it almost touches the ground before turning back skywards to its full glory. When the wind blows this "S" shape at the bottom acts as a spring to prevent it getting damaged.
In answer to "Lenjo", It was at the holiday cottage we stayed at in Cornwall in SW England and after talking to the owner we are growing one in a pot at 550ft in the Lake District in Northern England and another planted outside beside the sea a few miles away to see how they go.

I have been growing one of these for the past year on the North Wales Coast, it has been growing all through the winter and now stands at about 7 foot tall.
