We had a hard hail storm this evening along with twisting winds. I don't want to go out side in the morning and see the damage to the brugs. My poor brugs have had a tough time this year.
hail storm
Barbara, I'm so sorry to hear this. The weather has been so crazy this year. I have my fingers crossed that you don't have any bad damage.
Barb,
We had a lot of rain but not sure on the hail...I wasn't home when it rained.
So sad to hear this Barb. I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.
Oh, no...........I hope they aren't hurt too bad. We had a big wind last night, it blew over my big brugs. They were in pots anywhere from 16 inch to 24 inch, and it laid them flat. No damage that I could see other than a few broken-off leaves. Luckily they weren't in full bloom. It also blew over my 5 foot tall hibiscus which is in a 20 inch pot. The weather is so unpredictable lately. We need rain bad, haven't had any rain to speak of since July 4th. We farm, so our crops are suffering. I can water the brugs, but can't water 200 acres of corn!
how bad is it Barbara?
I'm so sorry to hear that you got such bad weather. I hope there isn't much damage.
Barb, I hope everything will be okay. This has been a bad year for a lot of people, but it sure seems like your area and east has had a rough time of it this year. Let us know if you need anything.
Barbara, I am so sorry to hear about the hail. I hope, the damage is not too severe. Keep your head up!
I am so sorry to hear this Barbara. You have really had a terrible time with your brugs this Summer! I hope everything is ok.
All of my stuff got shredded earlier in the year..everyone convinced me to hang on..I did and everything looks OK now..so hang in there.
:-)
So sorry to hear about that horrible storm, Barb. If you need anything...just email. Maybe we can help. As Eclipse just wrote...Hang in There.
Renee
You really have had a tough time this summer. Falling trees, summer hail and twister winds. How depressing. It is bound to be a much better summer next year!
I'm so sorry, how bad was it?
Well the hail wasn't the worst problem it was the twisting wind. Elephant ears, cannas, gingers and brug laying on the ground. The hail damage to the brugs-Just looks like a lot of caterpillars have been feasting. The leaves are twisted around the plants with hole in them. Have 15'ees that are laying on the ground. Waiting to see what will pop back up. Of course, all the brugs in pots that were blown over are twisted-the tops of the brugs reach for the light even when there isn't any. LOL. For some reason Rosabella took a real beating-could have mother nature arrested for plant abuse. LOL.
Gosh, I'm so sorry. I guess it can always be worse, but when we look at it, our eyes see all the mess Mother Nature has made and it's hard to think about it all getting better. I hope everything will soon perk up for you, but those holes.....well, I think you are stuck with them until you can remove the leaves. Dang...that is too bad Barb. Wish I could help some way.
So sorry for you.
Barb, you must just feel terrible. Come to the Coast and see what we have to replace your stuff that doesn/t perk back up!
In the scheme of life, a hail and wind storm are not so bad. Will survive-a minor inconvenience.
Roz- I believe everything will make it. Just a little worse for wear.
Brugie, thanks. There is really nothing anyone can do. Mother nature has a wicked sense of humor.
I do not know how you guys do it there. My sister lives in Metarie and it seems like one huge storm after another! Glad to hear they should survive for you Barb.
Barb I got just pea sized hail for a couple of minutes and very hard rain and winds but got no damage. Sorry you did.
