Currently we don't have a category for Hoyas in the Watchdog. I'll be glad to add one if (a big "IF") there's enough interest and sources to warrant a category. So...let me hear from you if you'd like to see this category. And I'll need your list(s) of sources so I can add them (or add this category to their entry, if they're already listed.)
Hoya sources?
Terry, I'm all for an added hoya category in GWD.
There are already several companies which sell Hoyas there, e.g Secret Gardens Rare Plants, Glasshouse Works, Aloha Hoya and I'm sure there are more which I don't know about but would like to know about :)
My vote to add: YES, absolutely
Oh and not to forget Watson's Hoya House in the Member Stores which, oddly enough, is not in GWD (heard many good things about this one)
Milan
So far I've found 15 mail-order companies that specialize in (or at least offer some) hoyas: http://gardenwatchdog.com/advanced.php?category=107&submit=Search
Please let me know if you come across any other sources that should be added, (or existing entries that should have hoyas added to their categories.)
One for now to add Hoya category

I'll keep looking
Terry, here's another where the Hoya category should be added.
http://gardenwatchdog.com/c/35/
Furthermore I added one store from NL
I added hoyas to Pike Lake's and Logee's categories; it looks like we're on a good roll.
Another few where the Hoya category should be added

What about Grigsby Cactus and Succulents in Vista Calif. they only have two species to offer but they are good ones. She is ethical, but be sure to call if you visit, she is not pleasant, be sure to get there at least an hour before closing time, if it is hot, she will close early so she can water the plants. She will not let people in if she is packing and has a large backup of orders. She is all business, her plants are great, good size for the money, I order mail order from her only. They are packed professionally, the lady knows what she is doing. Ethical, meaning if a plant doesn't make it, or it was the wrong plant, if it was her fault, she will replace it withoug a squabble. She usually ships in about two weeks or less. Norma
I vote positive also. What about a trade list, or thread, added on easy to get to. Like this forum is.
I have H. 'Fresno Beauty' would like to trade, what can you offer?
I want H. compacta what will you want from me?
This is for real. Norma
We need a place to put our trades, and wants. How about it Terry, Kartuz is a resource, mail order Calif.
The Calif. Cactus Center no mail order, walk in
this place is located in Calif. Terry if more information is needed please email me.
Duffy's has gone out of business.
I have extra plants, but I don't sell, I only trade I don't believe it would be ethical.
I will trade for H. compacta as many as I can get rooted.
Lauray of Salifbury (26) listed. I don't know how accurate the names are.
I don't know enough to judge that. I do think I just found a name of one of my noids tonight however, so I accomplished something tonight.
Ted Green Hawaii mail order
The Plant Trading forum http://davesgarden.com/f/planttrading/ is and has been the place to announce what you have and want to trade (we don't permit selling or buying of plants at Dave's Garden.) Your personal Tradelist http://davesgarden.com/edittl/ is where you can keep your "inventory" of haves and wants, and others can search your list (and you can search theirs.)
If you have observations about your personal buying experience with any company listed in the Watchdog, you should submit it as feedback on their entry. I would strongly advise against leaving a comment that speculates on whether or not a company labels their plants properly, unless you have first-hand knowledge of problems.
Kartuz is listed as a source for Hoyas.
I've contacted California Cactus Center to confirm they do not mail order; in which case I will remove them (and Norma's feedback) from the Watchdog.
We don't have Duffy's listed - sounds like we shouldn't list them anyway, if they're out of business.
I already said "I don't sell or buy from the forums, I don't think that it is unethical." I can't use your so called trade forum/ list or what ever you call it. It's not easy to use, I can't take the time. I don't use your fact forum for the same reason. I tried once, and found it useless. I did have first hand experience that is why I mentioned it. I don't guess, I don't believe what others say, and don't repeat it unless I have seen the same thing myself. I did say the Calif. Cactus is walk in trade, I never said that they were mail order. I wanted to make sure I put in a disclaimer on wheather the names were correct or not, I don't indorse any nursery, nor do I want to misrepresent them either.
Sorry Norma
