Only one word to say about this beauty. "ASTOUNDING"!!!!
I have to get me some of these.
I have been shown another photo of Classic Suede and although markings are similar it is very golden yellow with tan-brown fall markings. Which is right???
To irisgal - they are possibly both right. My plant came direct from Larry Lauer so I feel confident of its identity, but the lighting (time of day, sun or shade)and even whether it's a first or second day bloom can make a HUGE difference. I think weather also plays a role: some years my THORNBIRD is almost green whereas it's normally more tan.
Puttytat ~~~ thanks for the verification. I saw the difference weather makes with our unusually cool spring. I'm trying for permission to post the gold photo. Notice it's described as sienna. Very nice markings.
