Can you just not go wrong taking pictures at night? This sport has reached about 11 feet high. It's loaded with buds, and a few seed pods. I really like it.
Maya sport in the dark
It is beautiful Kristi . . would love to get a cutting someday!
It's a winner, take care of it.
Looks great Kristi. Be careful pollinating. Could be dangerous getting up that high.
Great alley tree! How are you wintering it over?
That is just gorgeous! Just look at that foliage. Will you trim this fall?
That is a horrid little plant Kristi. Would you like me to take care of it for you and save you the embarassment? snicker, snicker, giggle Alright, I confess, I lied. What a beauty!
She's gonna let me keep it for her overwinter. It is really a beauty Kristi, glad you (created)the sport!
You guys are too sweet. Especially you Chele! Kell I over wintered this one in the house in front of a window last season http://davesgarden.com/t/375374/. It really did thrive and put out lots of suckers. This year I will let it go dormant if Gloria doesn't come and pick it up, LOL.
I'll have lots of cuttings this fall. I have three or four of the suckers planted around the yard. They are about six feet tall now and have tiny buds.
Oh right Kristi! I remember seeing this one now in pics you posted! You had them in front of your sliding glass doors, right?
Yep! Are you in NJ yet? How's your mom? It's SOOOO hot here during the day, then dropping in the 60's at night. The weather is melting my brug blooms. The poor plants are confused.
We have had it in the 90's. I have been watching my buds so close, can tell if one drops. Well, Creamsickle has had a bud about 6" long, kept watching it, never got any bigger, looked closer, it had separated from the top of the stem, , than about 5 smaller ones dropped off, I now can see one! Sigh....
Hi Kell, glad you got there safely!
Kristi, I noticed on the other thread you were calling it a sport of P&C, how did you determine it was Maya, instead?
Oh Gloria! How disappointing! I had a few buds about to open before I left home but at least I saw my first one. Now I am wondering if the others dropped their skirts. I would ask Tom but the less I bug him about my plants the better off we are! LOL
Yes Kristi, I am here! It sure got hot today! LOL. Coleus just love it here. The ones I planted in pots last month are now at least 3 feet tall! I am cutting them for floral arrangements.
Sweet, that is me! (batting my eyelashes) I'm just waiting for you to turn your back so I can take all your brugs! LOL I remember when you had all these in your house! And I do want to be on that cutting list! I still owe you *something* for the seedlings. I think you forgot to answer that email! LOL
