Purchasing Asiatic/Oriental Lily Bulbs

Albany, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi Everyone, I'm a brand new forum(er), and I've been reading the lily posts with great interest. I noticed there were several links for bulb companies in the Tracking down "Turk's Cap" lilies post, but I didn't see White Flower Farms mentioned. This is where I've been getting most of mine and I'm generally pleased with them.

Does anyone else buy from them and what do you think of the quality and price? I'm attaching my favorite Casa Blanca.

Thanks, Sue

WELCOME!

If you are new to DG, you should check out the Garden Watchdog section. It rates flower retailers and so far every one that has been mentioned that I have seen has been in the Garden Watchdog. Here is a link to White Flower Farm

Hope you enjoy your DG experience.

Welcome,Sue, I think there are probably cheaper places than White Flower Farm. I love their catalogs which give a wealth of information and companion planting suggestions. Just go to the coop forum and you probably will find better buys for your money. I have personally purchased lily collections from Jackson and Perkins in the fall.

You're right, Lenjo, the co-ops are a great place. Also, Sue, if you have an established garden with things to trade, plant trading forum will help you get a lot more variety in your garden.

Thanks everyone. I'll definitely investigate the different sites here.

White Flower Farm is excellent but a bit expensive. I buy something from them from time to time just so I can keep getting the catalog.

I have to agree with that. I just found them today and went to buy some beauties. Their shipping costs were almost as much as the bulbs. I still bought a few. Couldn't resist. You folks at DG have gotten me hooked. I Love It!
