A little plant that scrambles on the ground, but I think would climb up is provied a pole to do so.
It has heart shaped leaves, and speckles all over them. I have a feeling that it isn't a fast grower. It's reeal a neat plant. If you have one to trade let me know, I'm looking. Norma
Hoya curtsii
Norma, you are not the only one looking for one LOL.
Picta, puber, microphylla and other small hoyas are also on myto get wish list.
Well I have some of them to trade. I now have approximately 200 Hoya species, yes, they are crawling in th windows, I do have many that I'm already taking cuttings of, of course the more desirable ones are the slow growing species. Yes, I'm willing, but will not trade an 'Imperials' for a H. carnosa for instance. I have been collecting Hoya for the past year only. I will be visiting some of those Florida nurseries that you listed.
I also know Kartuz, and volunteer time down at his place so I can learn, he has given me great lessons on how to start these plants, I'm not proud, I will take lessons from anyone willing to teach me.
I do have open house here for interested people, I do not sell plants.
I like the company, and expect to learn from all of you.
I have already had a Hoya party so 50 of us that have met on one forum or another got together and traded them, talked about them, had lessons from the experts, talk about how to pot them, make them flower, fertilizer, size of pot, misting, mealies, mealies how to get rid of them. etc. and we ate ourselfs silly, I paid for the party, I didn't not expect my guest to pay a dime. I hope I will be strong enough to do it next year, it will be in May however, and not June, just too hot the 15 of June.
How can trades be set up, I vote for that, what about the rest of you? Norma
For the trades, just set it up in your trade list.
I have H. curtsii. Real cute little leaves.
It is a slow grower, and for some reason mine seems to branch a lot near the soil surface, so there are no long runs. Maybe I should try giving it something to climb on, as you suggested?
