This is a seedling from last winter that w'd(?) it has about 30 buds on it and its in its third flush---its about 4ft by 3 ft-yet I have cuttings from last winter that havent y'd yet and Im mg plus fish emulsion plus epson salting them all at least three times a week...and their exposure is pretty much the same? Im sorry my pic takin abilities are so lame--these were yesterday when they were just starting to open--came home from work today and the majority of them had fried,--with a heat index of 107 I think everyone around here was wilted.

heres a pic of the bloom as it was beginning to open--was afraid if I waited till it was completly open---it would be dark and the anaconda would be out---( well ok maybe its a chicken snake) this has no scent, but its bloomin its silly head off and its the pink darkens up a bit later in the bloom.

Play, I hope you are posting a picture now. LOL!! I'm not sure of what you posted in the first picture, but it looks like a plant that has sent up several basal shoots. Is that at ground level? The copyright kinda messes up the picture.

It's pretty. I'm glad you got to enjoy it before it fried. That is a problem in the midwest right now. I lost the tops out of two of mine today. Nothing but fried leaves.

ahhhhhhhh brugie:S I cant swear this isnt a cutting but theres no stump at the base and I dont recall there ever being one--but then again--lol I didnt remember to post the second pic either so? if its not a seedling from some ones cross--any one want to take a guess?

I'm sure it is a seedling. I just couldn't tell for sure what the first picture was. It looks a lot like Cool Blush that is posted on one of minigrannie's threads. However, if it is a seedling, it is one of a kind. You only get duplicates through cuttings. Pretty, pretty. Hope it cools down for you soon.

AllI have to say to you Play is MOVE and take your brugs with you! 107 is not meant for living things.

Kell, the heat index in our town yesterday was 111 degrees. Arkansas is usually hotter than we are, but someone got mixed up this year when she, Mother Nature, decided who was going to get nailed with the heat. Today our real temp is to be 98 or 99 and the heat index will depend on the humidity. Not even looking for ward to going outside this AM to water, but we do have some cloud cover, so maybe I can take it one more day.

PLAY...I am so happy you got the chance to enjoy your flowers...even if for a short time....It sure was a pretty one.
Now I don't know if this will help you or not. What I have been doing during this blistering heat here in the Midwest is connecting one of those tiny misting hoses to a stake and then directing the mist towards a Vulcanicola that was so wilted it looked like a tall stick with green clumps clinging to it's sides ! After putting the thing in the shade ...I let the mister bathe it during the hottest hours of the day. Usually between 10 A.M. and 3 P.M. The mister uses VERY, VERY little water even though it is on for such a long time and it seems to be helping. However...I doubt if I will keep this plant. Too much fooling around trying to keep it alive. Besides...it deserves to live where it will have a real chance at life.... So, it will be looking for new 'digs' very soon. As soon as it is well enough to travel LOL
Good Luck to you,
Renee
