These are eating up my leaves. Anybody know what they are? I love butterflies, but . . .

Nasty looking critter. I had them last year on just one brug and they all were squished. I may have depleted the butterfly population, but I could just see them spreading to the other plants and I would have had nothing. They can eat a ton each day.

I'm afraid these were squished too.

Striped Army Worm. They may also be called Fall Army Worms. Dipel(Bt) should get them.

Thanks, how do you use it? Spray? Powder? I don't know much about insecticides, but I'm ready to learn.

It is sold as either a liquid or powder, then you mix it with water and spray it on the plants. The caterpillars eat it, it causes their stomach to quit working and they die. It kills all caterpillars, so don't spray it where your monarch or gulf frit cats will get into it.

I wish I had a dollar for every one of those that i've smashed so far this year. Can we say early retirement! (LOL)

They just grow up to be more ugly army worms.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Lol @ Minigrannie. They grow up to be a plain brown moth(that lays more eggs which hatch out to be worms that eat your brugs)

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)
