My first Brug Buds. Nice fat big buds. It is an unknown orange. I counted 8 buds so far. Didn't think it would happen. Now I know I can bring them to bloom. Can ya tell I am a little happy here.
Brugie: Pristine is setting buds, too. It is nice to see some rewards after all the water and MG and then I resorted to Horse Manure. That must of scared them into blooming.LOL.
Finally, I have BUDS
Way to go Deb. You are going to have some great looking flowers from those buds. They are so fat and healthy looking. Hope Pristine will bloom well for you. I'm seeing the 4th set of buds on mine now.
Those are going to be some Whoppers!Congrats Debby!!
Looks like you know how to grow them! I use horse manure, and it sure scared mine. Almost lost a prize one by over using it.
Brugie: On your fourth set of blooms. Ugh.. Maybe next year for me. Pristine was about 5 or 6 ft. tall before she y'ed, thought she never would. As soon as she did she started setting buds, they are tiny still.
Root: Thanks, this is my first brug to bloom ever.
Hibiscus: From all the heat and dry conditions we are having I thought that the manure should be well composted. It was a last resort, I thought if it didn't kill them, then it might scare them into blooming.
Debby cant wait to see em open---please post another pic.
Debby, I thought the same thing, either cure 'em or kill them! Almost did!
Congrats Debby. Please post pics when it does.
what big, fat healthy ones! Can't wait to see your open flowers.
You all know that I will post pictures for sure when they open. I was concerned about the heat from the sun today, they were really wilted when I got home from work. Put 2 gallons of water on the plant and the leaves sprang right back. Tomorrow is to be worse, 110 heat index with high humidity.
Deb, is that the unknown orange from the swap? Looks like it will have some nice size blooms on it. I had two brugs that the tops got fried today. Can't think that tomorrow will be any worse. Hopefully we will see some clouds.
Be sure to post those blooms when they open. Maybe the weather will be a little cooler for them.
Brugie: I received it last fall from a lady that I have traded with for several years. I didn't know that there was an unknown orange in the swap. There were so many plants.LOL..
Hopefully we will get some rain along with the clouds. I have several too, that the tops got fried. Some in the gardens look pitiful. Can't water enough, soaks right down and the sun and heat zap em. My grass has never been this brown and dead looking.
Yes, I will post pics when she blooms. I looked tonight and the buds are still looking good and growing.
