I have Passiflora Incarnata growing in my yard for these butterflies to lay their eggs on. I watch the caterpillars eat and morph into butterflies. One day I noticed a butterfly emerging from its cocoon and decided to play with it once it was dried off and ready to go.
I actually took it over to my large hibiscus and was amazed as it unfurled its sipper to have its first drink! It is cool how they just know what to do after having used their mouths as caterpillars. I thought it might just sit there dumb-founded, but not a second passed and it was using its new eating tool.
I took several pictures of it as it let me carry it around and place it in different plants. I had a lot of fun with it and then watched as it fluttered off to its new life.
Just removed the link that is no longer a valid one.

My Fritillary Butterfly
Neat photo with the butterfly still on the crysalis. Hard to imagine it fit in there.
Your garden shoes looks just like mine, LOL

Windy, I love the picture of the frit on the hibiscus with its wings open!
