I used (and have always used) bird netting for climbing plants. Yes, that's right bird netting... that plastic stuff... Wrap it around, secure it and you are good for years

How beautiful.. I tried growing one on my mailbox, but everytime my husband came along with the lawn mower, it was gone! I kept replanting thinking it had "died' but after a while, I realized my husband was the culprit.. guess I will just make "Computer Wallpaper" out of your lamp post photo and pretend it is mine :-) Love it!
