Hobbs being neutered

Hobbs is headed to the vet Monday morning. *shhhhh.. don't tell him!!* He's going to be neutered. I've never had a male cat or dog before, so I'm not familiar with what to expect post surgery.

Anybody here have a male cat that's been through the surgery? Will it take a long time? Will he be sore and slow for a few days like Furball was after she was spayed?
