I have an Eric hybrid seedling now blooming for the first time. The flower is becoming a deep pinkish peach! Really pretty tendrils that swirl. The plant is just covered in tons of buds (2 are now open and about 13 more of various sizes) and should flower for a very long time. Its certainly worth the wait!! A very gentle fragrance that is not overpowering. I'm in HEAVEN!
Anyone who has pictures of Eric's various Peach colored blooms please post a picture. I would like to see if there is another flower that resembles this one. If not then I'll get out the camera, take pictures of the next set of blooms and post for people to see.
New Eric hybrid seedling blooming!
Take a picture anyway!! We want to see!

Sue,
I'll get my daughter to come over and take pictures. My hands aren't steady enough.
Sounds wonderful, Joydie. It's nice to hear you're pleased with it.

Can't wait to see the pics.
I'm glad you have a pretty one, can't wait to see the pics.
Thanks everyone. Theresa sent me the seeds. They were marked "Eric's Mixed" so I don't know what the parents are. Thank you Theresa!
Pictures were taken yesterday. My daughter came over for a surprise visit. I only had pollen from my Rosa Traum hybrid which opened again last night so I put that pollen on it. I have KBS which will flower within 2 weeks so I'll put some of that pollen on the next pinkish peach flowers.
I put the pinkish peach pollen on my Rosa Traum hybrid which is also blooming. Lets hope I get some seed pods on both plants. I've saved all the pollen from both plants.
What are you going to do with all your beautiful brugs Joydie when you move to NJ? When do you move?
Hi Kell,
I'll have to get my fiance to apply for an import permit, then I'll have to apply for an export permit I guess. I'll only keep the really special brugs grown from seeds. The other ones I'll give to family and friends and send cuttings for postage to other newbies to brugs that i've seen on the Canadian forum here. I've taken cuttings of most of the large brugs and will continue to take cuttings of the smaller ones as they develop.
I have Nina Lane X ? seedlings and Larry's "D" (Larry's crosses) that now have flower buds. Nina Lane is F1 generation from Betty Marshall. Some of Eric's "Isabella" seedlings bloomed last year, but have not bloomed again this year. They had white flowers and others have Y'd continue to grow, but do not yet have flower buds. I guess I would have to otherwise start collecting brugs all over again when I move.
I have versi peach x EP seedlings that are 3 feet tall that have not Y'd yet. It seems that Gloria's hybrids (Versi Pink x EP) have two distinct types of leaves, half are fuzzy and velvety and are not bothered by bugs at all. The ones that are smooth and have shiney surfaces the bugs seem to just love! I'm hoping that some might bloom this year, even just to get one flower so I can see what they will look like.
Off topic,
I have an 8 foot tall passiflora caerolea that has flowered several times. I just love it. I've taken cuttings from that plant and my other passifloras.
House hunting
All the homes we've looked at so far didn't have gardens. I would have to start gardening from scratch. I had to come back as my son had auditions in Toronto for a television series.
We've been concentrating on looking at houses in Greenwood Lake, NY instead of NJ. As fast as the nice homes in Greenwood Lake come on the market they get sold by the time DF sees them someone else puts an offer in. Its frustrating as there were two that we really wanted. Still not sure when I will be moving. Perhaps in the spring as time is moving much too fast already. Hope to have a house by then.
