Hertshaped leaf

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

Years ago I had a Hoya with a heart-shaped leaf. Has anyone seen these recently?

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

you most likely talk about kerrii

kerrii is one of the more commonly available Hoyas, sometimes you also can get variegated cultivars.

I've recently heard that there is also a fuzzy leaf form.
Yep, those are both common now, don't get taken on the price. Norma

So where is the best place to purchase Hoya starts? I think they are a neat plant but have never tried one. Would also be nice to know what kind to start with. Don't want to get in over my head.

Thanks

Brugie if you wait until the first of Sept I might be able to get you starts for a buc a piece. I bought 4 last month from a guy at the fleamarket. They're commons ones.

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

I found a website a few months ago that had a big selection, I'll see if I can find it again.

DR thank. Will you let me know? I'm into the canning season right now and am keeping pretty busy. Do try to get to Daves every day though. Thanks so much.

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

Good Hoyas species to start with are carnosa, compacta, bella, australis, pubicalyx, kerrii.

bella, may be a little fussy, it likes more water than most Hoya. Norma

Nice variegated kerrii you got there d_r.
There is another variegated cultivar on which the variegation is inversed.

Brugie, I can give you some starts. You have been so generous to me with brug. cuttings. I would like to do this for you. Send me an e-mail and I will tell you what I can send.

I must have the other varigated one, mine has lighter coloration in the center of the leaves, anybody know what the name is?

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

The one with the lighter inner leaf coloration would be a variegated kerrii but is also commonly refered to as the "reversed variegated" kerrii. The one shown in D_Rs picture is the albomarginated kerrii.
The form you have is the less common one in the trade and is often thought after.
So do you have a spare cutting LOL :)
