I could just scream!!! Broke the top off a seedling

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

That had buds! YAHHHHHHH... Okay, I did scream. Was to lazy to get something to stand on so I tried to tip the plant down a bit, then it snapped! I'm going to try to root it. Maybe the buds will stay on? Poor plant! Poor me, LOL.....

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Sometimes it happens.....same here :-)

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Ah Kristi . . will keep my fingers crosed for you. Hate when that happens. Wind broke the top of mine earlier this year, almost like starting over. No Y's yet . . very tall though.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh Kristi, that is too bad. I know after losing the tops out of six seedling, just how you feel.

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

:( been there---done that---said ugly words that i normally reserve for the grasshoppers only. wish a bandaid or duct tape would fix it for you. cheryl

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

My buds stay on when I put the branch in water. They bloom smaller but they open! Good luck. what a shame!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

My kids snapped one of mine almost completely off, was only hanging by a thread. I stood it back in place and taped it to support it. Would you believe it completely grew back??? After about a month, I took the tape off and it is doing just fine. Strange!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

duct tape...lol..........works for all!
good job Chele!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey, it was either try it or try rooting a cutting thinner than a pencil! LOL It worked so ha! :)

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm great for snapping off my first flowers. I think I've done that 3 times now. I just can't leave em alone!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

So I'm not alone? Makes me feel better, LOL.... Lesson learned. Not going to tug anymore plants down to my level! I never even thought about it snapping off. NEVER. Darn plant.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Badseed, I'll have to tell my husband that one. He uses duct tape for everything. He should write a book about the uses for duct tape, but I think it's already been done. lol

Knoxville, TN(Zone 7a)

datdog, I had the top of a 7 ft. seedling break off after a bad storm. The large buds made an effort at opening - - but apparently there wasn't enough fluid intake at that point to completely open the buds. On the good side, the remaining plant put all of it's energy resources into a small sucker that I hadn't removed. Only 4 weeks later, the sucker has grown to almost the size of the original canopy and is covered in buds! Nat

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

That is some good news Nat! Thanks. I'm also liking the duct tape idea Chele!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Poor Kristi

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Y'all are funny! LOL Actually, I just used plain old scotch tape. It was a small seedling. It's about three feet tall now and nice and bushy. Guess the tape did okay. :)
